Also known as Blonde Lipstick Tang, Blonde Naso Tang, Blonde Orangespine Unicornfish, Doctorfish, Indian Orangespine Unicorn, Lancetfish, Naso Blonde Streamer, Orangespine Unicorn, Orangespine Unicornfish, Smooth-headed Unicornfish, Thorntail, Thorntail Fish.

Found in small schools, over rocky bottoms, of coastal, sheltered reef flats, and oceanic locations.
They feed on benthic algae.
Length - 45cm
Depth - 5-30m
Widespread Indian Ocean

Surgeonfish have a blade like spine in the tail that points outwards when bent, unicorns have two hook-like plates along the tail, these are used for defence and are as sharp as a surgeons scalpel, hence the name "Surgeonfish".
