Curved Sweeper (Pempheris poeyi)

Description

Also known as Bullseye, Pempherid, Shortfin Sweeper.

Found in schools, during the day, sheltering in dense branching corals, caves, crevices, holes, and under ledges, of eroded limestone shorelines, out hunting for food, high above the bottom at night, over shallow coral and rocky reefs.
They feed nocturnally on zooplankton.
Length - 15cm
Depth - 2-20m
Widespread Western Atlantic, Caribbean

Sweepers school during the day, but at night they float high above the bottom to hunt for larger zooplankton.
