Also known as Bicolor Damselfish, Chocolate Dip, Chocolatedip Damselfish, Half-and-half Chromis, Indian Half-and-half Chromis, Puller, Twotone Chromis, Twotone Damselfish, Twotone Puller.

Found singly or in large schools, over reef slopes and upper edges of reef tops, in lagoons and seaward reefs.
They feed on algae, planktonic crustaceans, and fish eggs.

Damselfish are egg layers.
