Found singly, often partially buried in the sand, for camouflage, over coral, rock, and sandy fringing reefs.
They feed nocturnally on crustaceans and fish.

Depth - 1-30m
Widespread Indo-Pacific

Flatheads are closely related to Scorpionfish.
