Description

Also known as Bluefin Kingfish, Coastal Kingfish, Coastal Trevally, Diverse Trevally, Japanese Trevally, Malabar Trevally, Onion Trevally, Onionring Trevally, Shortfin Trevally, Trevally.

Found in small schools, over sandy bottoms, of deep coastal reefs. This Trevally has a deeper body than other trevallies.
They feed on planktonic crustaceans, small fish, and squid.
Juveniles strongly banded, but loose the bands with age, and are found in estuaries and shallow bays.
Length - 40cm
Depth - 1-60m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific
