Found in loose schools, along surf beaches and rocky headlands, in clean, high energy waters, also in estuaries and out in the open oceans. Migrating between warm waters during winter and cooler waters in summer.
Juveniles found in schools, in shallow coastal waters and estuaries.
They feed on cephalopods, crustaceans and fish.

These fish are popular gamefish, found throughout the worlds oceans. They are associated with billfish and sharks, voracious and aggressive often will bite when handled!
