Also known as Banded Trevally, Bar Jack, Barred Jack, Barred Trevally, Blue Kingfish, Ferdau's Cavalla, Ferdau's Trevally, Ferdy, Forskal's Jackfish, Scad, Trevally, Yellow-spotted Trevally.

Found singly or in small schools, over sandy beaches, of lagoons and coastal reefs.
They feed on benthic crustaceans, small fish, and molluscs.

Depth - 1-60m
Widespread Indo-Pacific

Jacks are fast swimming fish that can roam over great distances. The larger fish hunt other fish and the smaller fish eat zooplankton. In turn they are hunted by large Tuna and Dolphins. Ref: https://www.fishbase.se/summary/1921
