Description
Also known as Blackspot Sergeant Major, Grey Damselfish, Pacific Damselfish, Sergeant, Sergeant Major, Spot Damsel, Yellow-banded Sergeant Major.
Found singly or in small schools around harbours, jetties and piers over very shallow reef flats in lagoons and coastal shorelines.
They feed on algae, crustaceans and invertebrates.
Juveniles found in tide pools.

Damselfish are egg layers.
