Description

Also known as Deepsea Scorpionfish, Spiny Rockfish, Spiny Scorpionfish.

Found over mud and sand bottoms of the continental shelf and slope.
They feed on crustaceans, fish and zooplankton.
Usually caught by trawlers fishing for shrimp.
Length - 50cm
Depth - 130-1100m
Widespread Western Atlantic
