Description

Also known as Bass, Indo-Pacific Tarpon, Silverfish, Silver-king.

Found singly or in large schools, (sometimes in the same spot for years at a time) over coastal bays, estuaries, mangrove lined lagoons and rivers.
They feed on crabs and fish.
Length - 250cm
Depth - 1-40m
Widespread Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean

These fish can fill their swim bladders with air enabling them to life in areas of poor oxygen levels such as rivers.
