Description

Also known as Seaperch, Yellowtail, Yellowtail Seaperch.

Found singly or in schools, swimming well above the bottom, over coastal waters of coral reefs.
They feed on cephalopods, benthic crustaceans, fish, molluscs, and worms.
Juveniles found over seagrass beds.
Length - 75cm
Depth - 0-180m
Widespread Western Atlantic, Caribbean

Most Snappers live in moderate depths, however there are a few that live much deeper. Juveniles found on inshore reefs.
They are nocturnal predators that mainly feed on fish, but will eat crustaceans, gastropods and cephalopods.
