Description

Also known as Broadstriped Cardinalfish, Broadstriped Cardinal, Black-striped Cardinalfish and Narrow-striped Cardinalfish.

Found singly or in small groups in shallow waters on reef crests usually sheltering during the day coming out at night to feed on zooplankton and bottom dwelling crustaceans.
Length - 11cm
Depth - 6-15m
Widespread Indo-Pacific

Males incubate their eggs inside their mouths, as the egg masses increase in size they can be found with wide open mouths where they shift the eggs around to aerate the egg masses.
