Description

Also known as Trevallies, Trachinotus blochi, Snubnosed Pompano, Asian Pompano, Silver Pompano, Golden Pompano, Round Pompano, Buck-nosed Trevally, Snub-nosed Dart, Snub-nose Dart, Ladyfish and Moonfish.

Found singly or in small schools over coral and rocky reefs often in deep water.
Juveniles found patrolling in small schools along sandy beaches in shallow waters.
Juveniles with yellow fins becoming dull in adults.
They feed on small fish.
Length - 65cm
Depth - 2-50m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific

Jacks are fast swimming fish that can roam over great distances. The larger fish hunt other fish and the smaller fish eat zooplankton. In turn they are hunted by large Tuna and Dolphins. (edit)
