Description

Also known as Moray Eels, Nebulous Moray Eel, Clouded Moray, Snowflake Moray, Flowery Eel, Starry Moray Eel and Diamond-backed Moray.

Found singly on inshore protected reef flats and harbours, hiding in dead coral and crevasses.
They feed on fish and invertebrates.
Length - 60cm
Depth - 1-40m
Widespread Indo-pacific

Morays open and close their mouths to move water through their gills for respiration.
This behaviour can often be seen as a threat especially towards divers, in fact this is far from the truth, they are very shy creatures and will only attack if provoked!
