Found in pairs or small schools, close to their burrows under rocks, sifting through sand with their mouths looking for food, over silty, sandy bays and lagoons.
They feed on small invertebrates.

Depth - 1-25m
Widespread Indo-Pacific

These Gobies feed by taking a mouthful of sand that is filtered through the gills for tiny creatures.
