Found singly or in consortiums, clinging to jetties, beach rocks and walls of intertidal coral and rocky reefs and rocky shores.
Very shy, will disappear into cracks in the rocks when approached.
They feed on seaweeds.

Brachyura crabs are considered true crabs, they have a short abdomen, 4 walking legs and a pair of clawed arms at the front.
