Description
Also known as Penaeid Shrimps, Hunchback Prawn, Humpback Shrimp, Hunchback Shrimp, Humpback Velvet Shrimp and Humpback Velvet Prawn.
Found singly on hard bottoms with reef and coral debris.
Medium sized prawn, red with large blue/green eyes with a prominent hump.
They feed on plankton.
Length - 6-10cm
Depth - 4-200m
Widespread Western Pacific
These prawns are usually nocturnal, hiding in sand during the day.
They are edible prawns.
