Description

Also known as Parapercis sp., Grubfish, Sandsmelts, Weevers, Cylindrical Grubfish, Cylindrical Weever, Yellowtail Grubfish, Yellowtail Sandperch, Yellowtail Weever, Sharpnose Grubfish, Sharpnose Sandperch, Sharpnose Weever, Sharp-nosed Grubfish, Sharp-nosed Sandperch and Sharp-nosed Weever.

Found singly or in small groups on sand and rubble areas in lagoons and coastal reefs.
They feed on small animals and zooplankton.
Length - 14cm
Depth - 3-2m
Widespread Western Pacific

Sandperches live in the sand under solid pieces of reef, a single dominant male lives with a small harem of females. Not a very shy fish, is happy to sit and watch the world go by!
