Description

Also known as Bigeye Barracuda, Obtuse Barracuda, Reef Barracuda, Sea Pikes, Short-jawed Barracuda, Short-jawed Sea Pike, Yellowstripe Barracuda.

Found in schools during the day in bays, coastal reefs, lagoons and sheltered seaward reefs, dispersing at night to hunt for food.
Juveniles found in sheltered areas inshore.
They feed on fish and large invertebrates.
Length - 50cm
Depth - 2-25m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific, Mediterranean

Barracudas are large and torpedo shaped with an awesome array of teeth.
Can be quite curious and approach divers but are relatively harmless to divers!
