Also known as Orange-eyed Moray Eel, Starry Moray, Yellowmouth Eel, Yellowmouth Moray Eel, Yellow-mouthed Moray Eel.
Found singly in crevices and holes of inner and outer reef slopes mainly in oceanic waters.
They feed on fish.
Length - 180cm
Depth - 2-270m
Morays open and close their mouths to move water through their gills for respiration.
This behaviour can often be seen as a threat especially towards divers, in fact this is far from the truth, they are very shy creatures and will only attack if provoked! Ref: https://www.fishbase.in/summary/7465
