Description

Also known as Blowfish, Pufferfish, Striped Puffer, Tiger Puffer, Swelltoad, Toadfish, Yellowfin Pufferfish.

Found singly, pairs, or in schools, over rocky bottoms, in high energy zones, of estuaries and shorelines.
They feed on algae, crustaceans, invertebrates, and molluscs.
Length - 50cm
Depth - 1-100m
Widespread Northwest Pacific

The bodies of Pufferfish are covered in a toxic mucus, if the skin or flesh is consumed it can be fatal to humans.
