Description

Also known as African Cichlid, Giraffe Cichlid, Giraffe Hap, Kalingo, Malawi Cichlid, Venustus Cichlid.

Found over sandy substrates, sometimes partially buried in sand waiting for their prey, in deeper waters of the lake.
They feed on small fish and invertebrates.
Juveniles in shallow waters close to rocks.

Depth - 6-23m
Africa - Lake Malawi

A freshwater fish often seen in the aquarium trade.
