Description
Also known as Engleman's Lizardfish, Fowler's Lizardfish, Hoult's Lizardfish, Pointhead Lizardfish, Red Lizardfish, Redband Lizardfish, Reef Lizardfish, Sand Diver, Scalycheek Lizardfish, Short-nosed Lizardfish, Twospot Lizardfish.
Found singly or in pairs, half buried, or resting on sandy bottoms, over deep lagoons and seaward reefs.
They feed on crustaceans and small fish.

Lizardfish are experts at camouflage, they lie in wait for their prey lying on top of the sand or buried with just their heads showing. Their jaws have one or more lines of needle-like teeth.
