Description

Also known as Brown-spotted Rockcod, Cod, Frostback Cod, Hind, Honeycomb Cod, Rockcod, Trout, Twinspot Grouper.

Found singly over coral and rocky bottoms and weedy areas of reefs.
They feed on crustaceans and small fish.

Groupers are solitary carnivores that hunt near the bottom usually at dusk. Food is drawn into their mouths by a powerful suction when they open their overly large mouths and then swallowed whole.
