Description

Also known as Leatherjacket, Threadsail Leatherjacket.

Found singly, close to sandy sea floors, amongst corals and seaweeds.
They feed on benthic invertebrates and plants.
Juveniles found drifting with sargassum rafts.
Length - 30cm
Depth - 0-100m
Western Pacific - Hokkaido to East China Sea

Filefish can alter their colour and pattern to match their surrounds and so deter predators.
