Found singly or in small schools, over sandy bottoms, of coastal reef flats and lagoons.
They feed on crustaceans, small fish, and benthic invertebrates.
Juveniles close to the shelter of corals, over clear shallow lagoon reefs.
Length - 25cm
Depth - 1-20m
Widespread Eastern Indian Ocean, Western Pacific
