Also known as Ambonian Shrimp, Amboin Shrimp, Anemone Shrimp, Bold-spotted Anemone Shrimp, Carid Shrimp, Cleaner Shrimp, Commensal Anemone Shrimp, Commensal Shrimp, Dancing Shrimp, High-tailed Shrimp, Hump-backed Shrimp, Popcorn Shrimp, Sex Pistol Shrimp, Sexy Anemone Shrimp, Sexy Pistol Shrimp, Sexy Shrimp, Squat Anemone Shrimp, Squat Shrimp, White-saddled Shrimp.

Found in pairs or colonies, over shallow reefs, living symbiotically with their marine host, of either sea anemones, corals, or invertebrates. When excited it stretches its tail up and waves it about, hence the name sexy and dancing. Colour almost brownish, transparent with white bands and blue outline.
They feed on algae, parasites, and plankton.

Widespread Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean, Indo-Pacific

Often if a divers hand is near to a cleaner shrimps, they will hop on board and perform a manicure!

Carid shrimps occur worldwide in almost every habitat, from sea water to fresh water and can be found all over the reef.
They are generally respected by other creatures, often sharing burrows and holes and working as housekeepers.
