Also known as Blotched Hawkfish, Boar Hawkfish, Red-barred Hawkfish, Red-spotted Hawkfish,Threadfin Hawkfish.

Found singly or in small schools, perched on coral and rocks, over coral and rocky areas of estuaries, harbours, and coastal reefs.
They feed on crustaceans and small fish.
Length - 12cm
Depth - 5-40m
Widespread Western Indian Ocean, Western Pacific
