Description

Also known as Giant Catfish, Marine Catfish, Sea Barbel, Sea Catfish, Spotted Sea Catfish.

Found in schools, over brackish, fresh and marine waters, around estuaries, and inshore waters.
They feed on small fish and invertebrates.
Length 30cm
Depth - 50-100m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific

Air bladders are exported as isinglass used by the wine industry.
Some of these catfish have venomous spines in the fins which can inflict painful wounds.
