Description
Also known as Pig Face Bream, Red-eared Emperor, Red-ears, Red-edged Emperor, Redgill Emperor, Red-gilled Emperor, Red Opercled Snapper, Scarlet Cheek Emperor, Spot Cheek Emperor.
Found singly, or in large schools, over hard bottomed, rubble and sandy areas, of outer reef slopes and off-shore banks.
They feed on small crustaceans, fish, and small invertebrates.
Juveniles found in large schools, over shallow sandy areas.
