Also known as Australian Cardinalfish, Gobbleguts, Nurseryfishes, Orange Cardinalfish, Southern Gobbleguts.

Found sheltering in caves and under ledges during the day, dispersing at night to feed over sheltered rocky reefs.
They feed on crustaceans.
