Description

Also known as Asian Pompano, Buck-nosed Trevally, Dart, Golden Permit, Golden Pompano, Goldfin Permit, Ladyfish, Long Dorsalfin Pompano, Moonfish, Ovate Pompano, Oyster Cracker, Oyster Eater, Permit, Round Pompano, Silver Pompano, Snubnose Dart, Snub-nosed Dart, Snub-nosed Pompano, Snub-nosed Swallowtail, Spinous Dory, Trevally, Tropical Permit.

Found singly or in small schools, over very shallow, clear water, mud and sand shorelines, of bays, estuaries, and seaward coral and rocky reefs.
They feed on hard shell invertebrates and sand molluscs.
Juveniles found patrolling in small schools, along mud and sandy beaches in shallow waters.
Length - 50cm
Depth - 1-7m
Widespread Indo-Pacific

    i get this species in sudan's Red Seacoast areaand its called in tyman in arabic as a local name
