Description

Also known as Blackspot Goatfish, Roundspot Goatfish, Whitespot Goatfish.

Found singly foraging for food over coral, rock, rubble, sand and seagrass beds of shallow lagoons and seaward reefs.
They feed on crustaceans, fish and invertebrates.
Length - 30cm
Depth - 1-120m
Widespread Indo-Pacific

Goatfish have two barbels extending form the chin, these are used to probe the sand for food such as worms, brittle stars, crustaceans and small fish.
