Also known as Bridled Goby, Cauer Eyebar Goby, Eyebar Goby, Eyebar Sandgoby, Goldspot Goby, Gudgeon, Sand Goby, Shoulderspot Goby, Shoulderspot Sandgoby.

Found singly or in small schools, resting on sheltered sandy areas close to coral, rock and rubble, over reef flats and seaward reefs.
They feed on algae, detritus and small benthic invertebrates.

Depth - 2-50m
Widespread Indo-Pacific

These Gobies feed by taking a mouthful of sand that is filtered through the gills for tiny creatures.
They make large homes on sandy areas below rocks, with a small entrance that is covered over at night, when predators are near these Gobies dive into the sand and swim through the sand to escape danger. Ref: https://www.fishbase.se/summary/9950
