Found resting in their nest, made from small pieces of coral and rock, over coral and rocky reefs.
They feed on plankton.
Length - 7.5cm
Depth - 0-200m
Widespread Western Atlantic, Caribbean

Most Bivalves are permanently anchored in fissures or depressions in the rock surface of the reef, some may become covered in algae and other marine life.
