Description

Also known as Baitfish, Broad-banded Hardyhead, Broad-banded Silverside, Capricorn Hardyhead, Greyback, Hardyhead, Hardyhead Silverside, Pitted Hardyhead, Red Sea Silverside, Robust Hardyhead, Sandsmelt, Slender Hardyhead, Whitebait, Wide-banded Hardyhead Silverside.

Found in large schools during the day, dispersing at night to feed on sheltered sandy reef margins, mangroves and shorelines.
They feed nocturnally on planktonic crustaceans.
