Juveniles shelter in sea pens and sea-whips, often lining up vertically to hide behind sea-whips.
Length - 18cm
Depth - 1-50m
Widespread Southeast Atlantic, Indo-West Pacific

Filefish can alter their colour and pattern to match their surrounds and so deter predators.
Although closely related to the Triggerfish, their "trigger spine" cannot be locked into place. Ref: https://www.fishbase.se/summary/Pseudalutarius-nasicornis.html
