Description

Also known as Morwong, Rubberlip, Rubberlip Morwong, Sea Carp.

Found singly, or in schools, sheltering at the bases of rocky outcrops, over exposed coral and rocky reefs.
They feed on benthic algae, invertebrates and weeds.
Juveniles found amongst algae over coastal reefs.
Length - 65cm
Depth - 0-55m
Western Pacific - Eastern Australia, Northeastern New Zealand

Morwongs are found in cool tropical to temperate waters.
They feed by taking mouthfuls of sand and filter benthic invertebrates through their gill raker's.
