Also known as Black Coral Sea Whip, Black Wire Coral, Octocoral, Red Sea Whip, Whip Coral, Wire Coral, Whip Gorgonian.

Found in dense colonies, usually in exposed areas, on mud and sand bottoms of reef flats and walls. Varies in colour.
They feed on plankton.
