Also known as Australian Emperor, Bridled Pigface Bream, Pigface Bream, Pinkear Bream, Pink-eared Bream, Pink-eared Emperor, Purple-eared Emperor, Purple-headed Emperor, Redear Bream, Redear Emperor, Redspot Emperor, Redspot Emperor Fish, Redspot Sea Bream, Sliver-spotted Sea Bream, Yellowbrow Emperor.

Found singly or in small schools over sandy bottoms close to coral reefs of deep lagoons and
coastal reefs.
They feed on small crustaceans, fish and invertebrates.
Juveniles over shallow sandy bottoms, seagrass beds and mangrove swamps.
Length - 50cm
Depth - 5-90m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific
