Description

Also known as Fingerprint Toby, Indian Toby, Peter's Puffer, Peter's Pufferfish, Toby.

Found singly or in pairs, amongst branches of corals, under ledges, or out in the open, over inter-tidal reef flats, of lagoons and seaward reefs.
They feed on filamentous and coralline algae, crustaceans, and invertebrates.
Length - 9cm
Depth - 1-25m
Indian Ocean - Oman, East Africa to the Andaman Sea

The bodies of Pufferfish are covered in a toxic mucus, if the skin or flesh is consumed it can be fatal to humans.
