Found attached to gorgonians and black corals, over inter-tidal areas, of coral and rocky reefs. Often overgrown by other organisms. The length of the wing is variable.
They feed on plankton.

Depth - 0-35m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific

In some areas these oysters are cultivated to produce black pearls.

Most Bivalves are permanently anchored in fissures or depressions in the rock surface of the reef, some may become covered in algae and other marine life.
