Description

Also known as Fugu Puffer, Ocellated Puffer, Orange Saddle Puffer, Orange Saddle Pufferfish, Peacock Puffer, Pufferfish.

Found singly, pairs, or in small schools, over rubble areas of lagoons and seaward reefs.
They feed on algae, crustaceans, invertebrates, molluscs.
Juveniles found in brackish freshwater.
Length - 15cm
Depth 1-20m
Asia - China, Viet Nam

The bodies of Pufferfish are covered in a toxic mucus, if the skin or flesh is consumed it can be fatal to humans.
