Description

Also known as Bream, Caribbean Red Snapper, Mexican Red Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Pensacola Red Snapper, Red Snapper.

Found over rocky bottoms, in off-shore, deep reefs.
They feed on cephalopods, crustaceans, fish, and worms.
Juveniles found over mud and sandy bottoms.
Length - 100cm
Depth - 10-190m
Widespread Western Atlantic, Caribbean

Most Snappers live in moderate depths, however there are a few that live much deeper. Juveniles found on inshore reefs.
They are nocturnal predators that mainly feed on fish, but will eat crustaceans, gastropods and cephalopods.
