Description

Also known as Eyeshadow Cardinalfish, Oneline Cardinal, Oneline Cardinalfish, One-lined Cardinalfish.

Found singly under ledges and around isolated coral heads of silty inner reef areas.
They feed nocturnally on fish and invertebrates.
Length - 12cm
Depth - 3-40m
Widespread Indo-Pacific

Males incubate their eggs inside their mouths, as the egg masses increase in size they can be found with wide open mouths where they shift the eggs around to aerate the egg masses Ref: https://fishbase.net.br/summary/5756
