Found singly, pairs, or large schools, in murky waters, over coral and rocky areas, of reef flats, lagoons, and seaward reefs.
They feed on benthic invertebrates, coral polyps, encrusting sponges, and tunicates.
Length - 22cm
Depth - 2-180m
Widespread Eastern Pacific, Indo-Pacific
