Also known as Barred Pargo, Greenbar Snapper, Mexican Barred Pargo, Pargo, Striped Pargo.

Found in deep waters, over rocky bottoms close to coral reefs.
They feed on benthic fish and invertebrates.
Juveniles often found in rocky tide pools.
Length - 90cm
Depth - 0-50m
Widespread Eastern Pacific

Most Snappers live in moderate depths, however there are a few that live much deeper. Juveniles found on inshore reefs.
They are nocturnal predators that mainly feed on fish, but will eat crustaceans, gastropods and cephalopods.
