Description

Also known as Banded Goatfish, Doublebar Goatfish, Five-barred Goatfish, Many-banded Goatfish, Multi-barred Goatfish.

Found singly or in schools, foraging for food, over coral, limestone rubble, and sand patches, of reef flats and shallow lagoons.
They feed on small crabs and shrimps.
Length - 30cm
Depth - 3-160m
Widespread Pacific Ocean

Goatfish have two barbels extending form the chin, these are used to probe the sand for food such as worms, brittle stars, crustaceans and small fish.
They often have other fish in tow which hoover up any creatures left behind.
