Description

Also known as Blue Fusilier, Metallic-blue Fusilier, Moon Caesio, Moon Fusilier.

Found in large schools, sometimes mixed with other fusiliers, feeding midwater, over upper edge's of steep slopes and patch reefs, of lagoons, coastal and seaward reefs, rich in coral growth. Varies in colour from blue to red with night and day.
They feed on zooplankton.

Widespread Indo-West Pacific

Fusiliers are close relatives of snappers, but are much smaller and more slender.
Schools of fusiliers often have other species mixed in.
