Description

Also known as Brachyura Crab, Decorator Crab, Doubtful Spider Crab, Imitator Crab.

Found in shallow waters, covered in rubbish, seaweed, shells, sponges, etc., attached by hooks to its shell, to act as camouflage against predators, making them hard to spot when walking over rubble, sand, and seagrass beds, of coral and rocky reefs. Also found living inside the bells of cannonball jellies - Stomolophus meleagris.
They feed on detritus and seaweeds.
